The Playbooks,
sixty patterns, one first test each.
Every business model pattern in MakersOS, written as a playbook a company can run on its own: the reads from the library, the riskiest assumption, a two-week test, what releases the money and what kills it.
Sixty patterns · the house’s platform pattern · the fit list runs in the Room · version 3, October 2026
A pattern is a bet, and a bet gets a test before it gets euros.
The library inside MakersOS carries sixty patterns after the St. Gallen work, in the house’s own words, plus the platform pattern. Each one says which of the four boxes it moves, which dimensions it draws on, the business it serves, the term of value it moves, its preconditions on the scores and its lag to a quarterly close. The playbooks add the part the library leaves to judgement: the riskiest assumption, the two-week test, the release condition and the kill line, each marked as the house’s placement until the field work prices it.
Your fourteen, read against the library, in your Room.
The fit list reads a company’s fourteen scores against every pattern’s preconditions and says which patterns are open to it, which are conditional and which are killed, with the reason. It runs inside the company’s own Room, from the answers already given there, and nothing is asked twice. The scores from the free diagnostic carry into the Room on the day it is issued.
Sixty patterns, each with its preconditions on the fourteen · the placement is the house’s and is marked an assumption until the field prices it

- Read the room. Check the preconditions against the scores already given; the Room re-asks nothing.
- Write the riskiest assumption. Customers will pay per period for continuing access.
- Run the two-week test. Offer an annual plan to twenty customers who buy ad hoc.
- Read the result against the release condition. Right if: A quarter of the twenty sign, and the plan’s price beats their yearly spend.
- Build the smallest sellable version in staged tranches: the first on the test, the second on the first paying customer, the third on the figure in the close.
- Measure in the quarterly close, predicted beside landed, on the dimensions above.
What kills it. A product used once; churn you cannot see coming.
The pattern: Gassmann, Frankenberger and Csik, the St. Gallen business model work, in the house’s words · the assumption, test, release condition and kill line: Makers of New, ASSUMPTION until priced in the field
